Where most Marvel Netflix shows have 13 episodes, it seems Iron Fist season 2 will only have 10. Marvel has announced the episode titles on social media, all lifted from iconic issue titles.
The first season of Iron Fist was something of a disappointment for Marvel. Although it's believed to have performed well in terms of ratings, viewers and critics alike were unimpressed with the series. As a result, Marvel has put a lot of time and effort into improving season 2. They recruited a new showrunner, Raven Metzner, and gave star Finn Jones months to train for the fight choreography. It seems they're also choosing to run with a lower episode count.

When one fan queried the episode count on Instagram, they were given a tongue-in-cheek response.
Marvel Netflix shows are traditionally 13 episodes long, which has caused problems in terms of pacing. The best shows vary pace subtly, with action interspersed with slower, character- and plot-defining moments. Every series should really have a different balance, shaped by the kind of story it wants to tell, the genre it operates in, and the character dynamics in a scene. Getting it right can create a tremendous sense of dramatic tension. Unfortunately, Marvel has often been criticized for struggling when it comes to pacing. A common complaint is that the shows are frequently slow and meandering, and many viewers have suggested that a cut in episode count would encourage screenwriters to produce tighter scripts, and showrunners to cut overlong scenes down to size.
There have been rumors that Iron Fist season 2 would have a shorter episode count for some time, fueled by a report last year that there'd only be 23 episodes between Iron Fist and Daredevil season 3. The fact that Daredevil seems to still have 13 episodes suggests that Marvel is being a little more flexible here - they're choosing to give a series as many episodes as it actually needs, rather than working to a 13-episode rule. It's a positive development, and suggests Marvel is trying to rectify their longrunning pacing problem.
