Conan is set to welcome some big guests during its annual week-long trip to San Diego Comic-Con, including the casts of Aquaman and Breaking Bad. The current elder statesman among the field of late night talk show hosts, Conan O'Brien will soon celebrate his 25th anniversary in the late night field. Conan's first initial hosting stint on NBC's Late Night began in September 1993, after which he moved on to a brief run hosting The Tonight Show, before heading off to host the simply titled Conan on TBS in 2010.
Popular with a younger than average - for late night - crowd since back in his early years on NBC, in recent times, Conan has taken steps to become even more friendly to the millennial audience. He maintains a healthy social media presence designed for lots of fan engagement, hilariously reviews the latest video games as part of his Clueless Gamer segments, and since 2015, has broadcast a week of shows from the geek mecca that is San Diego Comic-Con.Related: Colbert, Fallon & Conan O’Brien Team Up To Respond To Trump’s Insults
Now, Conan has revealed its latest Comic-Con guest line-up (via Deadline), and it's sure to have something to please just about every fan. Note, to coincide with the convention, Conan's airing schedule during that week is different, with shows on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Wednesday night kicks things off with a Breaking Bad cast reunion, as the Emmy-magnet drama celebrates its 10th anniversary. On Thursday, the cast of Shane Black's The Predator drops by, while on Saturday, the cast of M. Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable/Split crossover Glass appears. Finally, Sunday will see the cast of DC's highly anticipated Aquaman swim over for a chat.
As for who, specifically will be in attendance, the Breaking Bad reunion will include actors Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, RJ Mitte, Giancarlo Esposito, Bob Odenkirk, and series creator Vince Gilligan. Representing The Predator will be Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Thomas Jane, Trevante Rhodes, Alfie Allen, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, Yvonne Strahovski, and director Black. Glass' contingent includes actors Samuel L. Jackson, James McAvoy, Bruce Willis, Sarah Paulson, Anya Taylor-Joy and director Shyamalan.
The exact line-up of guests from Aquaman is still yet to be announced, but one assumes all the major cast members will be included, as well as possibly director James Wan. This won't be the first time that a new DCEU film has been represented during Conan's Comic-Con week, as the cast of Suicide Squad made an appearance in 2016. Notably, 2018 will mark the first Conan trip to Comic-Con not to include the cast of HBO's Game of Thrones, which of course saw its final batch of episodes delayed to 2019, and won't have a presence at SDCC. As has become tradition, viewers should also expect more than one surprise guest to stop by during these shows, due to how many big name stars are in the vicinity. One wonders what effect - if any - Conan's upcoming switch to a half-hour format will have on 2019's SDCC gathering.
